At Manila Fashion Week 2026, Charlotte Folk presents a collection shaped by the people the brand has encountered, the places it has traveled, and the different lifestyles it has experienced. Rooted in its philosophy of elevated everyday essentials, the collection explores diversity, movement, and individuality while staying true to the brand's distinctly Filipino perspective.

Every collection begins with a story. What personal experience, emotion, or cultural reference became the starting point for the collection you’re presenting at Manila Fashion Week?

Charlotte Folk has always been built on the idea of creating pieces for everyone, everywhere. This collection was inspired by the people I’ve met, the places I’ve traveled to, and the different lifestyles I’ve experienced along the way.

We wanted to create a collection that reflects diversity, movement, and individuality—showing that no matter who you are or where you’re from, there’s a place for you in Charlotte Folk.

Your work contributes to the evolving narrative of Filipino fashion. How do you define your creative identity today, and how has it transformed since you first started designing?

Our creative identity has always been rooted in creating elevated everyday essentials, but it has evolved into something much more intentional. We draw inspiration from Filipino culture in subtle ways—through local music, artists, the tropical climate, and the way people naturally express themselves through fashion. Over time, we’ve become more confident in creating pieces that are functional, timeless, and distinctly Charlotte Folk while still celebrating our local perspective.

Fashion is more than clothing—it’s a reflection of culture, community, and individuality. What conversation or feeling do you hope your collection sparks once it leaves the runway?

More than anything, I hope people feel included. Charlotte Folk has always been about building a genuine community, and we love bringing our audience into our creative journey by sharing the process behind every collection. I hope this collection encourages people to embrace their own style with confidence and reminds them that fashion should feel personal, expressive, and accessible to everyone.

Can you share a moment from the creation process that challenged or surprised you? Whether it was a material, silhouette, collaboration, or unexpected breakthrough, we’d love to hear the story behind it.

There are always unexpected challenges throughout the design process—from refining silhouettes to making countless small decisions that shape the final collection. Every obstacle became an opportunity to improve the designs and push our creativity further. Looking back, those challenges made the collection stronger and reminded us that great work comes from constantly learning, adapting, and refining.

 Looking beyond this season, what do you hope your work contributes to the future of Philippine fashion, and what legacy do you want your brand to leave for the next generation of creatives?

I hope Charlotte Folk encourages people to see fashion as a form of self-expression rather than something defined by trends. We want people to make every piece their own and wear it in ways that reflect who they are. If our brand can inspire the next generation to create authentically, embrace inclusivity, and build communities through fashion, then that’s the legacy we’d be proud to leave.
