MNL Fashion Week 2026 Returns As A Celebration of Filipino Talent Meant for the Global Stage

Eleven Filipino designers, visiting international celebrities and personalities, and press and content creators from across Southeast Asia converge on the SMX Convention Center at SM Aura Premier for four days built on one founding belief, that fashion belongs to everyone.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — August 5, 2026 — MNL Fashion Week (MNLFW) returns for its second edition this September 3 to 6, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, McKinley Parkway, Taguig, Metro Manila (Bonifacio Global City), four days of back-to-back runway shows, pop up galleries, and cultural programming positioning Filipino fashion to “stand alongside the great fashion weeks of Asia and the world.”

For founder and executive director John Lozano, the platform is the culmination of a career that began in a way that was destined, in front of a television. “My mom made me watch a video of my sisters in a school fashion show,” Lozano recalls of the show that first “sparked my curiosity in the world of fashion.” That curiosity carried him through 20 years as a stylist, then through Manila X, where he fused music and fashion; BYS Fashion Week, where he used a beauty brand’s reach to bring fashion to more people; and Flique, a street-style magazine built so that “people could see themselves in the magazines.” MNL Fashion Week, he says, is the next chapter of the same mission: “fashion should be consumed, it should be enjoyed, it should be for everybody. It’s not just for people who can af ord it, or for people who have time to embrace it.”

That belief shapes who MNLFW is built for. “We’re focusing more on designers that are brands themselves,” Lozano explains, “because fashion is meant to be enjoyed and consumed by as many people as possible.” For 2026, he’s promising the same rigor as last year, pushed further: “We’re still going to highlight the best of the best in terms of Filipino brands and designers, and at the same time, it’s always a constant pursuit to push the boundaries and to see where we can bring the quality of shows here in the Philippines.” And he’s quick to redirect credit away from himself: “MNL Fashion Week is not just me, it’s not just the team mounting it, it’s everybody — the directors, the designers, the production designers… all I know is that everybody’s going to push it further than ever before, and that’s always the goal every year.”

He is just as direct about rivalry with the country’s other fashion events. “I don’t see it as competition, because we’re all aiming for one goal,” he says. “There’s a lot of fashion events in the Philippines, which is very promising — it just goes to show that there’s a lot of interest in fashion.” Lozano traces the country’s fragmentation to geography itself: “The Philippines is an archipelago — we’re a collection of islands, more than 7,000, almost 8,000 islands. We’re so used to being divided. There’s always that division, and I feel like that’s the biggest thing that’s holding us back.” His answer is to keep the door open rather than draw a line: “It’s not to prove something, it’s not to show the world that we can do this better than everybody else. It’s really to bring everybody together — whoever wants to help push Filipino fashion forward globally is welcome to join MNL Fashion Week.”

Asked what MNLFW needs to become over the next three years, Lozano’s answer is almost anti-ambitious: “It doesn’t really need to become anything. I feel like where it is now is where it’s supposed to be — if anything, it needs to be consistent. If we stay consistent and true to what we stand for, then good things are bound to happen.” The legacy he’s after is measured in community, not scale: “If there’s a legacy that I want MNL Fashion Week to have in the next three, five, maybe ten years, it’s really the fact that we were uniting the Filipino fashion community. I want it to be a celebration of Filipino fashion, not a showcase… whether it stays as it is and doesn’t get bigger, I don’t mind, as long as Filipinos know that once, maybe twice a year, there’s a celebration waiting for them.”

THE 2026 ROSTER

Eleven Filipino labels headline this year’s runway, spanning modern minimalism, anti-fashion maximalism, heritage craft, and streetwear: Antonina, HA.MÜ, Yong Studio, Charlotte Folk, Randolf, nicolò, Proudrace, Lorico, Lilah Roché, Yana Kalaw Studios, and Killjoy Studios.

GLOBAL EYES ON MANILA

Building on last year’s momentum, when MNLFW hosted five to six international titles for the first time, this year’s edition welcomes confirmed press from L’Officiel (Vietnam, Malaysia), Harper’s Bazaar (Indonesia), GQ (Singapore, Hong Kong), Esquire (Malaysia), Grazia (Singapore), and Elle (Malaysia), alongside regional content creators from Vietnam namely Bá Tùng “Tyler” and Nguyen Ngoc Linh Chau, as well as Cissy Lia and Helen Hiuu from Indonesia. The runway will also welcome visiting Thai celebrities namely Chaikamon Sermsong Wittaya (“Boss”), Anupart Luangsodsai (“Ngern”), Tharathon Phumphothingam (“Oat”), Siwaj Sawatmaneekul (“New”), Thanakorn Wichanukhor (“Min”), and Jarukit Kaewmoonrueang (“Toptap”).

“It only makes sense for us to double or triple that effort to make sure our local designers get the international recognition they deserve,” says PR Director Vani Altomonte.

Asked what a successful 2026 looks like, Lozano ties it back to the people who build it: “A successful run for MNL Fashion Week for me is when the people working behind it have the best time of their lives — and I think in the past years that we’ve been doing this, it has always been that. That’s why our partners keep coming back. Staging this may be stressful at times, but ultimately it’s fulfilling, it’s worthwhile, and it’s fun. So for me, the success of 2026 is for everybody — not just the people working behind it, but even the audience will bring home with them a sense of fun and a sense of pride for Filipino fashion. That’s all I need.”
