- FACETS: Christos
Christos is a Greek international model and influencer who by the age of 17 had already built a large social media following. Last year when he turned 18 and was on holiday in Dubai, he was discovered by Luminary Models, a local and international scouting and modelling agency. Since then he had began his journey as an international model with his first International placement in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. When we ask Christos, what was the best part about his experience in Dubai? “It would be walking for Arab fashion week and being able to meet and collaborate with other artist!”. Currently Christos is looking forward for his next placement in London, United Kingdom and where are quite excited for where life will take this young man! INSTAGRAM: @christos_71 One would describe Christos as someone who is down to earth and driven to learn new things. - Tales of Monegros
Tales of Monegros by Seigar. This travel photo narrative tells the story of the Monegros desert and its haunting quality. Monegros is a county in Aragon, Spain located within the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca. Like many photographers that have been before inspired by this rural landscape, I was attracted to this region to work on its landscapes, landmarks, and little villages we find on the road. The word Monegros comes from mon (countryside) and negros (black color), however, I could find many other warm colors and tones. The photos were taken in December 2021, and though not far from there we could find snow, this desertic area is famous for its blue sky and its semiarid climate, with barely any rainfall and high temperatures. Like any other Spanish destination, it offers traditions and a religious presence. Monegros in my pop view became some curious buildings, mysterious trees, and big open sceneries. It is one of the most intriguing and unearthly places I have ever been, and the fact it has few populations completed this vision. Species distribution is the manner in which a biological taxon is spatially in area. Faced with aggressive habitat we feel heterogeneity and aloofness. Maybe it's just a destructive environment out, but it`s not something wrong with you. The story is about the inner feelings of beleave in ourselves even if everything around is against. - Fragile Things
Photographer: Joan Ilejay @joan___of___art Model: Lu Jane Yacoub Styling: Christy Burton Studio: 1910 Studios, Bahrain @1910___studios Fragile things is dedicated to my parents. They were kind, loving and accepting. My name is Joan Ilejay, I’m currently based in Bahrain. I took up Fine Arts back in college. The first time I realized I wanted to take photos was when I found my Dad’s old film camera, a Konica auto-reflex. I fell in love instantly. The sound it made when I turn the lever and the loud clack when you pushed the button. It was a different rush of excitement for me. I loved it, but at the same time I was young and didn’t understand anything. Thinking it was just a passing hobby, I put a pause to that era in my life. That same year, I got into a fashion company as a textile designer. I had the opportunity to learn a lot about fashion. My dormant passion burned once again only for a different thing. I got more involved in the industry and with the photoshoots that needed to be done. It was igniting every cell in my body and pushing me towards what I feel I should be doing. I researched on photos, photographers and what not trying to understand and imitate how and why photos are pleasing, trying to refine taste. I came across Jean-Paul Goude. He is a visionary, a person who really knows what he wants and goes for it. He would draw his visions on paper and recreate them through photography. It blew my mind. For a second, I saw myself in that direction. I told myself I wanted to be Jean Paul Goude. To be a visionary. I still have a long way to go and I doubt I’m even an inch of what he is. But I know I’m working hard to get there. 2013, I decided to go back to the Philippines and my partner became a photographer. Since then we would always work together hand in hand whether he’s shooting or I’m shooting. He would support and push me whenever I go through creative blocks. We were always together. Our friends are amazing too. Something I didn’t think I would make in the industry. It made photography even more special to me. Fast forward to 2021, my partner Kevin, Yohan our friend and I now own a photography studio here in Bahrain. Despite the pandemic we didn’t stop. Whether it was shooting online around the world or shooting with an unbreathable mask under the middle eastern summer heat, we never stopped. I want to be better than I was before. I want to be a great visionary that I saw myself to be. Fragile things is about those breaking and shattering easily. It’s about acceptance and moving forward. It is about letting go. When I asked Lu Jane to do this shoot with me, it wasn’t my intention for it to go into this direction. We had a completely different mood board but as the shoot progressed it felt different. You can find most of my work on instgram at @joan___of___art and @1910___studios

- Hey George!
I had a trip planned to Madrid and Yarden (the stylist) is also from Israel so we knew each other before and shes studies Fashion creative in Madrid. So we thought it would be cool to create something spontaneously and fun while I'm there. Yarden sent me some options of models and we both loved George from first sight so I reached to him and he agreed! The three of us met on a sunny beautiful day in a neighborhood called Lavapies and just roamed around and try to capture the clothing of the local brand Boltad with George (who happened to be the funniest guy ever) and that's how it was created. Im Ariel Pedatzur, 26, from Tel Aviv, Israel based now in Vienna, Austria. I studied photography for two years in Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel and then I dropped out and continued doing my photography, exhibitions and projects independently. My interest in photography started at a very young age, I think I was 10 when I started playing around with my parents camera and take photos of my beautiful neighbor Tamar while dressing her up with her moms clothes (her mom used to be a famous fashion journalist in Israel) and asking her to pose in certain ways. From there on I was always so into capturing moments with friends and in my surroundings. Although from that moment I was always taking photos it was only years later when I was 18 when I started taking photography seriously. I bought a digital camera and started charging for my work and a year later I started taking analog photos and since then I never looked back to the digital camera I have spent all my savings on back then. When I was 19.5 I went to study photography in the Art Uni and I stayed there for two years and understood it wasn't for me so I just left and continued doing it on my own. What is so memorable from this shooting is the fact that in life you have to flow, reach out and not be afraid of stuff not working out exactly as you planned. Sometimes the most spontaneous events will turn out to be the most memorable. That's also the thing with analog photography, you never know exactly how it will turn out until you get the photos back from the lab. I would say that at the moment my greatest achievement as a photographer is being so blessed to be able to do something I'm so passionate about and excites me so much and make a living from it. I have been working on a project that I'm very excited about although it takes forever, so hopefully this will move on. Also I'm so keen to do another exhibition for so long, so who knows? Maybe that's what's next! - Atmosfear
This collage series explores the concepts of cancel culture, censorship, control, propaganda and the manipulation of the media and social networks. The intention is to show, expose and denounce these dangerous issues, and the need to fight for freedom. The inspiration can be found in the situations people are experiencing in their everyday life, and in the vigilant processes of personal data. Pop images of hard repressions and clear statements were used to reinforce the atmosphere of fear. Stop it. The world is in our hands. Together. Seigar is a passionate travel, street, social-documentary, conceptual, and pop visual artist based in Tenerife, Spain. He feels obsessed with the pop culture that he shows in his works. He has explored photography, video art, writing, and collage. He writes for some media. His main inspirations are traveling and people. His aim as an artist is to tell tales with his camera, creating a continuous storyline from his trips and encounters. He is a philologist and works as a secondary school teacher. He is a self-taught visual artist, though he has done a two years course in advanced photography and one in cinema and television. He has participated in several international exhibitions, festivals, and cultural events. His works have been featured in numerous publications worldwide. His last interests are documenting identity and spreading the message of the Latin phrase: Carpe Diem. Recently, he received the Rafael Ramos García International Photography Award. He shares art and culture in his blog: Pop Sonality. Artwork by: SEIGAR
